Selenium Serum Test

The test measures the amount of selenium in your blood.

Your doctor might recommend this test if you

• have symptoms of thyroid disease such as fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, or muscle weakness,

Low levels may indicate selenium deficiency, while high levels may indicate toxicity. Abnormal results may also suggest thyroid dysfunction or autoimmune conditions.
