Cyclin D1 IHC

The Cyclin D1 IHC test is a laboratory test that uses antibodies to detect the presence of cyclin D1 protein in tissue samples. Its overexpression is found in mantle cell lymphoma.

• To diagnose or confirm the presence of mantle cell lymphoma
• To determine the effectiveness of treatment for mantle cell lymphoma
• To monitor patients with mantle cell lymphoma for disease progression or recurrence

This test may be recommended if you:

• Have symptoms suggestive of mantle cell lymphoma, such as enlarged lymph nodes, weight loss, fatigue, or night sweats
• Have been diagnosed with the disease and require further evaluation or monitoring
• Need to assess the response to treatment or detect any recurrence

Abnormal results do not necessarily mean you have cancer or any other serious condition. It is important to discuss your test results with your doctor for proper interpretation and further evaluation.

• A small sample of tissue taken during a biopsy will be analysed.
• The test is performed in a laboratory using a technique called immunohistochemistry (IHC).
• You won't experience any discomfort during the test itself.

No special preparations are usually required for this test. However, you may need to provide your original histopathology report and relevant clinical and radiological details for accurate interpretation of the test results. Follow any specific instructions given by your doctor or the lab for sample collection and submission.
