CD23 IHC

Your doctor might recommend CD23 testing if you:

• Have been diagnosed with B cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma (B-CLL/SLL)
• Show symptoms or have risk factors for B-CLL/SLL
• Need to evaluate the effectiveness or monitor the progress of treatment for B-CLL/SLL

Abnormal CD23 levels can indicate the presence and activity of B cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma (B-CLL/SLL). However, abnormal results do not confirm a diagnosis on their own. Further evaluation and discussion with your doctor are necessary to interpret the results accurately.

• A sample of paraffin blocks from a previous biopsy or surgery will be required.
• The laboratory will perform histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on the sample to assess CD23 expression.
• Results will be available on the fourth day.

B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) are two closely related types of cancer that affect the white blood cells.
