This test is recommended if you • Have symptoms suggestive of tuberculosis, such as persistent cough, weight loss, fever, and night sweats. • Have been exposed to someone with tuberculosis. • Have a weakened immune system. • Are being treated for tuberculosis and need monitoring.

Abnormal results may indicate an active infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis or other non-tuberculous mycobacteria.

During this test, a 2ml sample of your body fluids will be collected in a sterile container and it will be sent to the laboratory for analysis.

To prepare for this test: • Ensure that the specimen type, site, and proper clinical history are mentioned on the Test Request Form (TRF). • Collect 2ml of body fluid in a sterile container. • Follow any fasting or medication instructions given by your doctor.
