Goodpasture's Syndrome Panel

Goodpasture's Syndrome Panel measures the levels of Anti-GBM antibodies, PR3, ANCA in your blood.

• To diagnose autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation in the lungs, kidneys, and blood vessels • To detect conditions such as Goodpasture's syndrome, vasculitis, and glomerulonephritis • To monitor patients with autoimmune diseases or check the effectiveness of treatment

Your doctor may recommend Goodpasture's Syndrome Panel if • you have symptoms such as coughing up blood, difficulty breathing, fatigue, weight loss, joint pain, or skin rashes, • you have a family history of autoimmune diseases, or • you are being treated for an autoimmune disease.

Elevated levels of these antibodies can indicate autoimmune diseases that affect the lungs, kidneys, and blood vessels.

During the test, a small amount of blood will be drawn from your arm. The sample will then be sent to a laboratory for testing.

There are no special preparations required before the test. However, your doctor might recommend that you avoid certain medications or supplements that could interfere with the test results. Also, please inform your doctor if you have any specific requirements.

Goodpasture's syndrome is a rare autoimmune disease that causes damage to both lungs and kidneys. It occurs when the body produces antibodies against collagen in these organs. Symptoms include coughing up blood, difficulty breathing, fatigue, weight loss, and joint pain.
