Cobalt Hair Test by ICPMS

This test measures the amount of cobalt in your hair sample, which reflects long-term exposure to cobalt.

This test is done for various reasons, including

Your doctor might recommend this test if you have:

• Been exposed to cobalt through drinking water or environmental pollution.

Elevated levels of cobalt may indicate exposure to excessive levels of cobalt through food or occupational/environmental sources. This may lead to health problems such as cardiomyopathy, respiratory issues, and hypothyroidism.

Your hair sample will be collected by cutting a small piece of hair close to the scalp. There is no discomfort associated with the test.

No special preparations are required before taking the Cobalt Hair Test by ICPMS. However, it is advisable to consult your healthcare provider to determine if there are any particular requirements you should be aware of.
