CD4/CD8 by Flow Cytometry

This test measures the levels of CD4 and CD8 cells in your blood, which are important for assessing your immune system function.

• To monitor the progression of HIV infection and assess the immune status of HIV-positive individuals.

• To assess immune reconstitution after bone marrow transplant.

This test is recommended:

Abnormal CD4 and CD8 levels may indicate a weakened immune system, such as in HIV infection. High CD4/CD8 ratio suggests an overactive immune response, as seen in some autoimmune disorders.
