Anti DNAse B enzymatic Serum Test

The test uses a blood sample, which is analysed to measure the amount of anti-DNAse B antibody in your bloodstream.

Abnormal levels of anti-DNAse B antibodies may indicate

• A recent or current streptococcal infection.
• Complications from a previous streptococcal infection, such as rheumatic fever or kidney damage.

• The test requires a blood sample, which is generally obtained by inserting a syringe into your arm.
• The area where the needle will be inserted will be cleaned with an antiseptic solution.
• A needle will be inserted into your vein to draw the blood sample.
• You may feel a slight pinch or sting when the needle is inserted.
