Aspergillus fumigatus is a microorganism and is one of the most prevalent airborne (conidia) types of fungus. This fungus is found in abundance throughout the environment and can flourish both indoors and outdoors. Most individuals are likely to inhale aspergillus spores regularly. Individuals with a strong immune system typically do not experience any harmful effects. In comparison, individuals with a weakened immune system may face serious infections. Although allergies to this form of mold are uncommon, some individuals may experience a severe allergic reaction from contact with aspergillus spores, especially individuals with respiratory problems or asthma.
An allergy to Aspergillus fumigatus (Fungus) triggers a reaction in an individual's immune system. The body views certain substances as toxic and produces IgE antibodies to these contaminants. These antibodies cause histamine to be released, which will cause the symptoms of an allergic reaction.
