Ibuprofen is a pain killer, which may result in allergy symptoms in sensitized individuals.
Ibuprofen is a medication that is used for the treatment of Pain, fever, and inflammation caused by a headache, back pain, or injury. This also includes treatment of painful and irritating menstrual cycle and migraines. Its effects begin within an hour. But besides its lots of benefits, it has side-effects too. Common side effects include heartburn and rash. It also creates gastrointestinal bleeding. Higher doses of Ibuprofen can cause heart attack too. It worsens asthma. In later stages of Pregnancy, Ibuprofen is harmful and therefore not recommended. It is also not recommended to a person suffering from the Chicken pox.

This test requires a blood sample. A tourniquet (elastic) band is placed tightly on the upper arm. The patient is then asked to make a fist. This helps in the build-up of blood filling the veins. The skin is disinfected before needle insertion and the blood sample is collected in vacutainer.
Negative: < 0.35 IU/ml
Positive: >= 0.35 IU/ml
Detection of IgE antibodies indicates an increased likelihood of allergy to Ibuprofen (Pain killer) drug that may be responsible for eliciting signs and symptoms. A negative result indicates that the symptoms are not due to Ibuprofen (Pain killer) drug allergies and other differential diagnoses must be considered.
