The Gestational Two Hour (75 grams glucose) test, also known as the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), is a blood test that is used to screen for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), a type of diabetes that can develop during pregnancy. The test is usually performed between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy. On the day of the test, you will be asked to drink a liquid that contains 75 grams of glucose. Your blood sugar level will be checked before you drink the glucose solution and then again 1 and 2 hours after you drink it. If your blood sugar level is higher than the normal levels, you may have GDM.
