Xpert MTB/XDR a rapid assay for detection of resistance to Isoniazid, Fluoroquinolones, Amikacin & Ethionamide. It can be used for analysis of both sample and culture isolates. As per *WHO update* on Rapid diagnostics for tuberculosis detection, 2021 this assay can be used for initial detection of Isoniazid & Fluoroquinolones resistance with moderate certainty of diagnostic accuracy and thus help in detection of *PreXDR* M. tuberculosis strains.

The test measures the presence or absence of resistance to Isoniazid, Fluoroquinolones, Amikacin & Ethionamide in the patient’s pulmonary sample.
• The test is done to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis and the resistance to TB drugs; Isoniazid, Fluoroquinolones, Amikacin & Ethionamide • The test is useful to determine the patient’s resistance and the associated responsiveness to the line of drug treatment.
The test should be recommended to patients in whom MTB infection and possible drug resistance is suspected.
The patient will be guided on collecting sputum sample; other pulmonary samples will be collected by the treating doctor

Positive result indicates that MTB is detected in the pulmonary sample. The further resistance status to each drug is also provided. Further clinical correlation can be established based on this.
