Anaemia Workup Profile

• Hemolytic anemia: This type of anemia occurs when red blood cells are destroyed faster than they can be produced. It can be caused by genetic conditions, diseases, or certain medications.

• Sickle cell anemia: This type of anemia is inherited and caused by abnormal hemoglobin which leads to abnormally shaped red blood cells.
• Thalassemia: This type of anemia is caused by a genetic disorder that affects the production of hemoglobin.

The Anaemia Workup Profile is selected based on RBC morphology revealed during peripheral blood examination. The exact cause of anemia will be determined by the individual's medical history, symptoms, and lab results. Treatment options will depend on the type of anemia, but may include medications, dietary changes, blood transfusions, or in some cases, surgery.
