DNA (Double Strand) Antibody By IFA – Reflex End Point Titre Serum

This test measures the levels of antibodies against double-stranded DNA in your blood. 

• To diagnose lupus or other autoimmune diseases, especially when symptoms like joint pain, fatigue, rashes, or fever are present.
• To monitor disease activity and evaluate treatment effectiveness in patients with lupus.
• To assess the risk of lupus development in people with a family history of the disease.
• To differentiate between lupus and other autoimmune or non-autoimmune conditions.

This test may be recommended if you:

• Show signs and symptoms of lupus or other autoimmune diseases.
• Have a family history of lupus.
• Already have a diagnosis of lupus and need to monitor disease activity and response to treatment.
• Are suspected of having an autoimmune disease but require confirmation.

Elevated levels of antibodies against double-stranded DNA may suggest active lupus, an increased risk of disease flare-ups, or other autoimmune diseases.

This test involves drawing a small sample of blood from a vein in your arm using a needle and a syringe. You may feel a slight pinch as the needle is inserted, but the procedure is generally quick and painless.
