Pan Neurotropic Profile (3 RNA, 3 DNA, 3 Mycobacterium Spp And 1 Parasite Included) PCR - CSF

This test detects the presence of 3 RNA, 3 DNA, 3 Mycobacterium spp and 1 parasite of Pan Herpes DNA, Pan Flavivirus RNA, Pan Enterovirus RNA and Pan Paramyxovirus RNA viruses in cerebral spinal fluid.

• To detect Pan Herpes DNA, Pan Flavivirus RNA, Pan Enterovirus RNA and Pan Paramyxovirus RNA viruses in the neurological system • To determine the appropriate treatment • To monitor treatment progress

This test is recommended for patients • who show symptoms of neurological diseases that include severe headaches, stiff neck, fever, seizures, or confusion, or • display suspected viral meningitis, encephalitis, or paralysis.

If an abnormal result is found, it may indicate that a neurotropic virus is present in the central nervous system that can cause encephalitis, meningitis, or other neurological diseases.

• A small amount of cerebrospinal fluid will be collected from your lower back using a needle. • The sample will be sent to a laboratory for analysis.

• Tell your doctor if you have any bleeding disorders or are taking blood-thinning medication. • Drink plenty of fluids on the day of the test. • Avoid eating or drinking anything for six hours before the test. • Discuss any medication with your physician that you may need to stop taking a few days before the test. • Inform your doctor if you have any specific requirements.
