CD15 IHC

This test measures the presence of CD15 protein in tissue samples, predominantly found in Reed-Sternberg cells.

• To diagnose Hodgkin's lymphoma and differentiate it from other types of lymphomas
• To monitor the effectiveness of treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma
• To determine the prognosis and guide further management of the disease
• To assist in making decisions regarding targeted therapies

This test is recommended in the following scenarios:

• Suspicion of Hodgkin's lymphoma based on symptoms like enlarged lymph nodes, unexplained weight loss, fever, and night sweats
• A family history of Hodgkin lymphoma
• A history of exposure to certain chemicals, such as benzene or pesticides, which are known risk factors for Hodgkin lymphoma

Abnormal results of the CD15 test may indicate the presence of Reed-Sternberg cells, suggesting Hodgkin's lymphoma. However, further diagnostic tests, such as a biopsy or additional immunohistochemistry markers, may be required for a definitive diagnosis. It is essential to discuss the results with your doctor for appropriate evaluation and management.

• The stained tissue will then be examined under a microscope to detect the presence or absence of CD15 protein.
