Bone Marrow Aspiration

Bone marrow is a soft, spongy tissue found in the centre of certain bones in our bodies. It is responsible for producing and storing stem cells, which are immature cells that can develop into various types of blood cells. Bone Marrow Aspiration for morphological examination is an analysis of the provided bone marrow sample. The sampling guidelines require the preparation of 2 stained and 2 unstained fixed bone marrow smears, along with 2 peripheral blood smears. These prepared smears are then examined under a microscope to analyze the cellular components of the bone marrow and peripheral blood, which helps in diagnosing and evaluating various hematological disorders.
