Rubella
Positive: More than 10 international units per millilitre (IU/mL) IgG antibodies.
Negative: Less than 7 IU/mL IgG antibodies and less than 0.9 IgM antibodies
HIV
For all age groups and genders:
If the test shows the presence of P24 antigen, the test is said to be positive, as P24 is the first antigen to get detected in the blood. It also tests for the presence of HIV1 and HIV2 antibodies in the blood. Presence of both antigen and antibody can detect positivity for HIV infection.
Interpretations
The results are termed either “positive” or “negative.” A positive test result means IgG or IgM antibodies were found for one or more of the infections that were part of the screening. This can also mean that you currently have, or have had in the past, or have been already vaccinated against the disease. Your doctor will explain the test results and check with you what they mean. A negative test result is considered normal. It means that no antibodies were perceived, and there is no present or past infection.
