Established in 1966 by the visionary leader Dr.Pradip K Desai, Desai Metropolis is one of the leading diagnostic centers of Surat and South Gujarat. Dr Suresh Desai, an eminent Histopathologist, has helped Desai Metropolis develop into a referral centre renowned for Histopathology. The centre today receives the highest number of Histopathology specimens in South Gujarat - up to 7000 a year.
Dr. Pranav Desai and Dr. Shefali Desai were inducted as partners in the firm on 1st April 1999 and 1st April 2000 respectively. After Dr. Pranav Desai completed his post-graduation in Pathology, he recieved further training in Histopathology and Immunohistochemistry at Bombay Hospital for one and half years under Dr. Arun Chitale. Immunochemistry and Immunoassay by Immulite were started by Dr.Pranav and Dr. Shefali. Dr. Shubhada Karulkar, with an experience working abroad, forms a part of the core team
